02 BIRTH (07.00 MIN)

Commencing with a sonic re-enactment of the creation of our universe, Birth describes a wayfarer’s voyage across the Australian desert onboard a hovercraft, following his first-time escape from underground captivity. The wayfarer struggles against vices and experiences mesmerising allurement towards the paradisaical mirage of the chanting Sirens of Love; all this is heard over an apocalyptically ominous soundscape suggesting the complex rise and fall of the civilisations and religious orders of our times.

03 LIFE (10.00 MIN)

The emotional drama of the spiritual battle between the forces of darkness and light is here resumed through the power and passion of full force arena rock, driving electro-rock dance stanzas and an existential ballad reaching its climax in spoken word poetry. Life is the catchcry of humanity rising up against oppression in its myriad forms.

04 LOVE ("ESHGH") (05.50 MIN)

Now we are transported to the Kurdish mountains of Sulaymaniyah, where sufi dervishes chant a Persian ode to the Divine Love which precedes romantic or platonic infatuation. This love emanates from the Divine Spirit, which is here characterised as the Immortal Phoenix rising from the ashes of every age in the human form of Luminaries such as Gautama Buddha or Jesus Christ.

05 DEATH (05.40 MIN)

In a modification of the Odyssean myth, Sirens of Love can be heard re-emerging from howling seas over the Great Barrier Reef, drawing the wayfarer into certain death or victory in seizing the answer to the greatest philosophical question of all time: “What is the meaning of life?”
